Alumnae Newsletter

The girls from the Zeta Mu chapter at Towson are putting together a KD Alumnae Newsletter so the AC can see what the girls in the area are up to. Unfortunately, I can't upload attachments but if you want a copy, please email me at kruck1@gmail.com and I'll forward it on to you. This newsletter highlights the current council members, recent accomplishments, girl scouts, and Shamrock (which is this Saturday!)

AC Survey

Margaret has sent a survey to the members of the AC. If you did not get the email (or if you're thinking of becoming a member of the group) please respond! The more opinions the better. The link to the survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZNFPKMQ

Cherry Blossom Festival

This past weekend was the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC. It was a last minute planned event and it looks like only Cydny and Margaret were able to make it, but it was a beautiful downtown and it looks like fun was had!

Shamrock Run - April 10th

This Saturday, April 10th, at 10:00 am, the Zeta Mu Chapter will be hosting their annual Shamrock Run for Prevent Child Abuse America. Eighty percent of the proceeds go to The Family Tree, Maryland's local Prevent Child Abuse affiliate with the remaining 20% going to PCAA.

The run/walk starts at Towson at 10:00, but please get there by 9:00 to register or get your number. The event is very family friendly. Local girl scouts will be in attendance to help with giving out water and cheering on the runners/walkers. There will be raffles and lots of prizes. Please try and make it out to Towson to run/walk/volunteer for this wonderful cause!

Zeta Mu Helps Out with Girl Scout Thinking Day

On March 5, the Zeta Mu chapter at Towson University sponsored a Uniquely Me! station for the Girl Scouts to earn a health badge. The girls also helped with all the other stations so the Girl Scouts could earn a badge that an Irish Girl Scout guide would earn. Below are some pictures from the event.

Zeta Mu Shamrock Project

On Saturday, April 10th, the Zeta Mu chapter at Towson University will be holding their annual Shamrock 5K Run for Prevent Child Abuse America. The girls at Zeta Mu are encouraging the AC to come to the event and either run or walk to show their support.

If you are unable to attend, but would still like to help out, monetary donations are greatly appreciated as well as donations for raffle prizes. Alumnae have helped out tremendously in the past with the raffle donations (use those networking skills, ladies!). The more we can donate, the better!

If you have any questions, please email Michelle Fox, VP Community Service at mfoxkappadelta@gmail.com.

Holiday Re-Gifting Event

Sorry I haven't posted this sooner. Things have been crazy lately! Anyway, here we go!...

Come on...don't lie...you know you've done it. You open a gift from someone during the holidays and you think to yourself, "what in the world am I going to do with this?" but you politely respond, "Thanks! I love it!" as you contemplate who you can give it to and for what occasion.

This year the AC held it's first ever "regifting party." There were lots of laughs and trades as everyone knew what they were getting into before they arrived. From Kappa Delta travel mugs, to slider stations, to lavendar hand mittens, aviator sunglasses, Christmas decorations, and slippers everyone had a great time opening the gifts, laughing at what people got (or brought!) and stealing from one another (especially Cydny who didn't get to keep a gift for more than one turn).
So always remember: one man's trash is another man's treasure so hold onto that gift you got from you're crazy Aunt Sally because it might just be a hit at next year's regifting party!
